Mycotoxin Testing

Mycotoxins are toxic fungal metabolites that are chemically diverse and can occur in a variety of grains, feed and food products; some of these compounds can cause serious human and animal health problems. The most significant impact of mycotoxins at this time is through their unavoidable invasion into the food and feed supply.

Mycotoxin contamination generally begins in the fields as crops mature. As crops are processed, transported, or stored mycotoxin concentrations can increase. These factors result in inherent inhomogeneity of products that are contaminated at ppm, ppb, and ppt levels. Managing mycotoxins is a critical part of minimizing risks in the food and feed industry.

Trilogy Analytical Laboratory has vast knowledge and experience with the analysis of mycotoxins.
