Mycotoxin Binders - Pelleted Feed

Trilogy Analytical offers studies to determine the efficiency of mycotoxin binders to be used in animal feed products. Trilogy binder assays are ISO 17025 accredited and results are reported within 5-10 business days.

Mycotoxin binders have become a viable option for the protection of livestock against the effects of mycotoxin contamination. Trilogy has developed simulation studies to measure the efficiency of mycotoxin binders after animal ingestion. The study combines the binder and a specific mycotoxin in a solution that has a pH level similar to an animal’s digestive tract.

Mycotoxin Binders - Pig

Mycotoxin Binder Trial

Bench work is completed and HPLC determinations are performed in triplicate to determine the amount of toxin that is bound to the adsorbant. Desorption is determined in the next step to indicate how much mycotoxin will remain bound to the binder as it moves through the digestive tract. With both stages of this study we can determine how efficient the binder is at removing mycotoxins known to be present in animal feeds.

Inclusion rates of the binder, toxin concentrations, and pH levels for both adsorption and desorption phases are all customized to meet individual requirements!
